FAUNA-FLORA STUDY
FLOATING PHOTOVOLTAIC PARK PROJECT
SMEG
GRAND-EST

Context
In order to optimize the use of a former quarry converted into a body of water, a floating photovoltaic park project covering almost 9.7 hectares on a 26.9-hectare stretch of water was initiated.
Even on artificial bodies of water, nature is quick to reclaim its rights. The installation of floating photovoltaic panels on bodies of water can therefore result in a loss of biodiversity. auddicé (in partnership with CDC Biodiversité for the compensation) supported SMEG in carrying out the fauna-flora study for its floating photovoltaic park project.

Program / projects
• Fauna-flora study prior to the implementation of a floating photovoltaic park
• Inventory of plant and animal species present
• Assessment of the ecological interest of the site
• Analysis of the project’s potential impact on the natural environment and definition of the project with the least impact
• Proposal of avoidance, reduction and compensation measures
